Summary of Role:The BBBEE Reporting Specialist role supports various power plants, taking responsibility forBBBEE data management, assessment and analysis to ensure BBBEE compliance. The role will work closely with the Social Impact Specialist, legal and compliance, and all other departments to access information for BBBEE compliance.This role involves ensuring that the company and the SPVs managed by the company are meeting BBBEE requirements and targets. Engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align the company’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements. The individual must have a fair understanding of Compliance Reporting in relation to all elements of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment.The BBBEE Specialist must possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of all elements of the BBBEE scorecard. The role requires the ability to collaborate with internal role players to innovatively develop a BBBEE strategy that drives transformation and delivers measurable impact. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining administrative systems to securely manage all required BBBEE documentation, as well as conducting regular internal compliance audits.What you will do:Core responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and consultants to conduct BBBEE assessments
  • Collect and analyse data related to BBBEE compliance, including ownership, management control, employment equity, skills development, procurement, socio- and enterprise development.
  • Monitor BBBEE compliance and report to shareholders and other stakeholders as and when required.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest BBBEE legislation and industry trends to ensure accurate analysis and compliance
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation for BBBEE assessments
  • Support in implementing strategies to improve BBBEE scorecards
  • Contribute to the development of BBBEE compliance strategies and action plans
  • Maintain organised records of BBBEE data and compliance documentation
  • Conducting periodical audits on all ED elements of the BBBEE scorecard
  • Preparation of Reports (including Social and Ethics Committees and Boards) and forecasts for shareholders, financiers and Buyers.
  • Ensure all regulatory & statutory submissions are submitted on time and to the correct standards
What we require:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in a related discipline is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in BBBEE implementation and management, preferably within the Renewable Energy industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully coordinating and implementing BBBEE audits.
  • The position may require travel to remote project sites and communities.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent Analytical skills.

  • Strong understanding of social performance principles, including impact assessment and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of BBBEE regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Read, write and speak in English and one other South African language
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy project development sector and the process to develop utility scale wind and solar projects would be an advantage.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills.
