  • National Diploma
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Student Housing environment, specifically in clerical duties and residence operations
  • Relevant experience in Student Affairs within a Higher Education Institution
Recommended:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience as a Residence Supervisor or in a similar role will be an added advantage
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Admission: Deal with admissions for the students that are sent to a residence by the central office and create a data for the students in residence. Attend to Administration of the residence.
  • Create and direct student development programmes, Orientate first year students about the residence and its facilities.
  • Engage on budget process and manage the budget of your residence. Write monthly reports to the Head of department.
  • Liaise House Committee and RSAs on various issues as residence stakeholders.
  • Manage and handle conflict in the residence, deal with all disciplinary processes within the residence.
  • Organize house meetings, meetings with House Committee, RSAs and staff working in the residence. Attend departmental meetings
  • Keep student's records and all invoices for deliveries in the residence.
  • Ensure that the residence is kept in a good and habitable state at all times. Assist the department on selection and allocation process.
  • Supervise and manage the staff working at residence level.
  • Assist in ensuring that security and safety as well as health needs are addressed in the residence.
  • Liaise with other University departments, students and parents on various needs of the residence.
  • Allow students to speak with you on personal challenges that they are faced with and provide advice.
