Job Category: LogisticsJob Description:TFG LOGISTICS manages and oversees the Distribution Function of the group. Our 8 Distribution Centres (DCs) and management support staff total over 700 employees working to efficiently move stock to stores.Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a team within the Distribution Centre
  • Monitor and measure the quality of all work performed by the team
  • Managing all administrative tasks link to the dispatch department. (All reports)
  • Direct work of employees to ensure that accuracy, speed, cost and compliance targets within the Distribution Centre are achieved
  • Maintain department lead-time
  • Workforce planning.
  • Attend departmental meetings
  • Productivity reporting (KPIs and lead time)
  • Validate all carton adjustments
  • Improving processes within the department
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, BOP
  • Must be a team player
  • Conduct hearings and enquiries
  • Assist with departmental HR issues
  • Investigate and report all shorts and overs within 48hrs
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Post-matric qualification in logistics & warehouse management/supply chain management/ retail business management advantageous
  • Experience in Distribution Centre /warehousing
  • Proven experience in managing a team - (minimum of 2 years)
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with persons at all levels across departments/trading divisions
Skills:
  • Consistently meet deadlines whilst working in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer literate and good command of MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound accuracy and attention to detail
  • High energy, resilience and motivation
  • Is pro-active and forward thinking
