- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share in the Gauteng region.
- Identify potential customers and key decision-makers within the industrial automation industry and establish strong relationships to generate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective promotional materials, campaigns, and strategies to support sales initiatives.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, and provide feedback to the management team.
- Manage the sales process from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closing deals, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of customer inquiries.
- Provide product demonstrations, presentations, and technical support to clients to showcase the features and benefits of Rubicon's automation products.
- Work closely with the distribution partners and internal teams to coordinate product availability, pricing, and delivery schedules, and ensure seamless customer experiences.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and reports on sales activities, performance metrics, and market trends for management review.
- Train and mentor sales representatives and support staff to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service abilities.
- Represent Rubicon at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote brand awareness and build professional relationships within the automation community.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue growth across all product portfolios.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners to drive business development and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with marketing and product portfolio management teams to develop effective sales collateral, promotional campaigns, and product training programs.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and product enhancement.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sales activities.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance evaluations to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline sales processes, enhance efficiency, and increase profitability.
- Achieve set sales targets for each Portfolio allocated to the Gauteng Region.
- Operate effectively within in a high performing, collaborative, productive team environment.
- Provide accurate and relevant market information to support decision making.
- Positive feedback from peers within the product, sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams, and the wider business stakeholders
- Improved Customer uptake and satisfaction
- Maintain focus primarily on the Product Portfolio's while gaining key learnings and inputs in other areas and categories from time to time.
- Minimum Undergraduate degree in a relevant field. Bachelor's degree in relevant field will be advantageous.
- Proven track record of successful sales management experience in the industrial automation sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and other sales productivity tools.
