
Operations Manager (Aquaculture/ Pet Feed)

- Manage daily operations of the feed production and maintenance departments.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets.
- Ensure optimal use of resources to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programmes for all machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate and lead problem-solving for technical and operational issues.
- Monitor production metrics and report on performance against targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead and develop operational teams through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Liaise with procurement, quality assurance, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, production management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in feed, food, or related industries.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience on high quality extrusion processes.
- Proven track record in managing production in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience managing maintenance teams and production teams.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise work effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in production planning and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices is advantageous.
- Based in the Hermanus Area at the manufacturing facility.
- Requires flexibility to work outside normal hours during production peaks or in case of operational issues.
