Mechanical Engineer - Sugar Production Industry

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to ensure the efficient operation of mechanical systems.
• Conducting regular inspections and assessments of mechanical equipment to identify and address any issues.
• Planning and scheduling maintenance activities and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime.
• Performing troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical equipment as needed.
• Managing and supervising a team of mechanical technicians.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Keeping track of equipment performance and maintenance records.
• Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
• Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years + experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in sugar production.
• Fully proficient on the maintenance requirements of the OSHACT
• Deep Root Cause Analysis skills and experience
• Continuous improvement knowledge and experience
• Familiarity with Illovo systems would be an advantage (Maximo)

• Salary: R800K/yr – R600K/yr, negotiable
