- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to ensure the efficient operation of mechanical systems.
- Conducting regular inspections and assessments of mechanical equipment to identify and address any issues.
- Planning and scheduling maintenance activities and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime.
- Performing troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical equipment as needed.
- Managing and supervising a team of mechanical technicians.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Keeping track of equipment performance and maintenance records.
- Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
- Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years + experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in sugar production.
- Fully proficient on the maintenance requirements of the OSHACT
- Deep Root Cause Analysis skills and experience
- Continuous improvement knowledge and experience
- Familiarity with Illovo systems would be an advantage (Maximo)

- Salary: R800K/yr – R600K/yr, negotiable
