- You will be responsible fpr managing intermediary relationships and growing retail investment flows into the company's funds. The role focuses on building strong partnerships with independent financial advisors (IFA's), discretionary fund managers (DFM's) and other intermediaries to increase assets under management (AUM), strengthen brand presence and support the company's long-term growth strategy in the South African retail investment sector;
- You will be required to demonstrate a deep understanding of investments and the financial markets and must both understand and buy into the company's investment philosophy and process;
- You will be required to travel within South Africa regularly;
- Intermediary relationship management:
- You will be required to build and maintain strong relationships with IFA's, DFM's, wealth managers and private banks;
- You will be required to conduct regular engagement meetings, fund reviews and product training sessions;
- You will be required to act as the key point of contact for intermediaries, ensuring exceptional client service;
- Business development and sales:
- You will be required to identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive retail asset inflows;
- You will be required to deliver sales presentations at roadshows, client events and one-on-one meetings;
- You will be required to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall distribution strategy;
- Market and strategy support:
- You will be required to stay informed on competitor products, market trends and regulatory developments;
- You will be required to provide feedback from the market to support product development and positioning;
- You will be required to collaborate with marketing to deliver campaigns and value-added initiatives;
- Reporting and compliance:
- You will be required to maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline and outcomes;
- You will be required to report regularly on business development progress to management;
- You will be required to ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, FSCA regulations and treating customers fairly (TCF) principles.
- You have proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets;
- You have the ability to develop and sustain long-term professional relationships;
- You have strong presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
- You have technical understanding of unit trusts, offshore feeders, balanced funds, equity funds and model portfolios;
- You are comfortable operating in a small, agile asset manager environment;
- You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage own schedule;
- You have excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English and Afrikaans;
- You are aligned with company values (accountability, commitment, transparency, exploration and sustainability).
- You have a relevant tertiary qualification (finance, economics, business, or related);
- You are FAIS-compliant with RE5 completed;
- You have a minimum 3 – 5 years' current, relevant experience in financial services sales, preferably in asset management;
- You are an established intermediary network within the retail investment market;
- You have a strong understanding of South African retail investment products and ASISA categories.
