Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of plant equipment and robotics safely and efficiently.Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Mathematics & Science)
- Section 13 Red Seal Millwright Trade Test
- N4 Electro-Mechanical Certificate
- 5+ years experience in heavy industry
- PLC (Siemens) (ABB, Yaskawa Robots)
- Receive, plan, and execute maintenance tasks before expiry
- Inspect tooling; determine spares/consumables
- Generate job requisitions; transport tools and spares
- Isolate and secure equipment, complete LOTO and permits
- Conduct preventive maintenance and changeovers
- Record all scheduled maintenance, ensure workshop housekeeping
- Prepare for plant start-ups and track daily hours (target utilization ?75%)
- Attend and resolve mechanical/electrical breakdowns
- Escalate unresolved issues; keep responsible persons updated
- Log all breakdowns and repairs in maintenance system
- Perform routine alignment, diagnosis, repairs, and commissioning
- Operate basic machining and welding equipment
- Maintain mechanical systems (drives, bearings, seals, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.)
- Electrical work: design/install circuits, wire ways, fault tracing (LV/three-phase systems)
- Install/commission electrical equipment and motors
- Inspect/test installations and maintain distribution panels, lighting, UPS, drives, and more
- Troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens) and robots (ABB, Yaskawa); basic ABB programming
- Fabricate, weld, and assemble using various methods
- Maintain and install instruments (flow, pressure, temperature)
- Perform basic electronic assembly and soldering
- Test and commission equipment before handover
- Complete maintenance documentation
- Clean work areas; communicate completion and any further issues
- Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts; sling loads
- Support engineering project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and team supervision
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and report maintenance activities
