PaarlA political and economic research company located in Paarl requires the services of an experienced Finance and Operations Manager.This position forms part of the senior management team and will require overall and final responsibility for the financial function of the company. Tasks will range from data capturing to the preparation of monthly management accounts, operational duties and payroll.RESPONSIBILITIES:The accounting function includes:
- Periodic financial reporting
- Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records
- Implementation of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk
- Enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results
- Compliance to generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards
- Cash and risk management
- The payroll function
- SARS e-filing (EMP201; EMP501), VAT returns
- Employee tax and IRP5 reconciliations
- Liaising with internal and external suppliers and contractors
- Ad hoc office administrative / management duties
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance
- 5+ years of relevant experience post qualification
- ESSENTIAL - Must have excellent knowledge of VIP Payroll; Pastel accounting software and SAP accounting software
- STRONG knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of forex exchange adjustments
