A leading plastics and packaging manufacturing company in Ormonde, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize its production operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to manage daily production, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Manage and oversee daily production operations to meet production targets and deadlines.
Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules for various packaging and plastic products.
Lead and mentor production teams to ensure high performance, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
Monitor raw material usage and manage inventory levels effectively.
Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for management.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards within the facility.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; tertiary qualification in Production Management, Engineering, or related field is advantageous.
Proven experience as a Production Manager in a manufacturing environment, ideally in plastics, packaging, or FMCG.
Strong understanding of production processes, workflow optimization, and operational planning.
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
