Job Description :We are seeking an experienced and passionate 'Kitchen Manager' to join our clients team in Grahamstown. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment.Responsibilities:Manage and lead kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations.Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and quality control.Plan and organize large functions, executing them successfully.Design menus and weekly specials, including buffet, à la carte, call orders, and canapés/snack items.Conduct weekly stock takes, manage inventory, and order supplies/equipment.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.Schedule staff shifts and provide training on prep work and plating techniques.Control waste and apply FIFO principles to manage stock.Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.Resolve conflicts and handle challenges calmly under pressure.RequirementsRequirements:Grade 12Culinary school certification or degree in Restaurant Management (advantageous).Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational and multi-tasking ability.Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Canva).Ability to work long hours, including Fridays and Saturdays.Energetic, self-driven, and passionate about creating beautifully plated meals.
