
Technical Buyer

- Coordinate RFQs, supplier vetting, and performance assessments.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery to secure the best value.
- Manage purchase orders from request through to delivery, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Work closely with operational teams to meet project and operational timelines.
- Keep procurement records up to date and accessible.
- Monitor industry trends and supplier performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and departmental cost-saving targets.
- Diploma or Degree (NQF6 minimum) in a relevant qualification: either Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
- At least 5 years’ experience in procurement/buying, ideally in a technical or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Google Suite applications.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a track record of supplier relationship management.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of working at pace without sacrificing accuracy.
- CIPS membership would be an advantage.
