This role is essential to their mission, ensuring the supply of high-quality components that form the backbone of their cutting-edge robotic systems.The Role: Key Responsibilities & Daily DutiesWe are seeking a meticulous and proactive Technical Buyer to manage the end-to-end procurement of critical technical components. You will be the vital link between engineering requirements and a reliable global supply chain.Your key responsibilities will include:
- Procurement & Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for a wide range of technical products, including:
- PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies)
- Electronic components (ICs, resistors, sensors)
- Cables and wiring harnesses
- Custom fabricated parts (cast and machined aluminum components)
- IT and network components
- Private Wireless equipment
- Supplier Management: Request, analyze, and compare quotations. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contract conditions to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply security.
- Technical Evaluation: Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand technical specifications. Assess supplier offerings for compliance with performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Process & Documentation: Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate entries in the ERP system. Maintain meticulous procurement records, contracts, and compliance documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Support strategic sourcing initiatives and cost-saving projects to optimize the supply chain.
- Essential: 3-5+ years of experience in a technical procurement or buying role, preferably within electronics, manufacturing, IT, or a related technology field.
- Essential: A keen attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
- Essential: Proven experience in supplier negotiation and management.
- Essential: Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate quotes and total cost of ownership.
- Highly Advantageous: Familiarity with electronic components, custom manufacturing processes, and IT hardware.
- Highly Advantageous: Experience with ERP systems and purchase order management.
- Essential: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
