An established engineering company is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join their team in Kew, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure the effective management and execution of electrical engineering and infrastructure projects.Responsibilities:
  • Interface and provide feedback with the Planner for all contract administration functions
  • Schedule activities and timelines (programme)
  • Manage materials: ordering, transport, quality, and storekeeping
  • Plan manpower requirements (resource scheduling)
  • Coordinate logistics
  • Manage monthly budgets for costs and sales
  • Track progress versus budget for costs and sales
  • Verify site instruction estimates
  • Prepare final forecast costs and sales
  • Manage claims (Cost Price Adjustment, Site Instructions, Extension of Time, etc.)
  • Handle invoicing
  • Track and report project progress
  • Organize site meetings
  • Report abnormal incidents
  • Maintain time records
  • Conduct contract reviews
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders
  • Attend and contribute to meetings
  • Respond to queries
  • Experience with FIDIC, JBCC, or NEC contracts
  • Formulate and negotiate claims
  • Comply with OHS Act requirements
  • Maintain contract records
  • Manage manpower records, grievances, and queries
  • Track equipment records
  • Adhere to company policies
  • Procure and expedite materials
  • Ensure quality control of materials
Requirements:
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Business, or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years exposure to the electrical and instrumentation industry as a Supervisor, Site Manager, or in Contracts/Project Administration or Management
  • At least 2 years of contract/project management experience
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act is advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project, or Primavera P6
  • Safety training, QA training (ISO 9001), and financial training (ability to manage committed cost systems)
  • Strong communication skills and assertive business acumen
  • Ability to work under pressure
