Teacher/Principal 2026Sagewood Preparatory School is an independent, Christian, English-medium school catering for both boys and girls from Grade 000 to Grade 7. Sagewood is a member of the Independent Schools Association of South Africa, ISASA. The school is both accredited by IQAA and UMALUSI. It is situated on the North Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal, just outside the town of Gingindlovu.Experienced Teacher/Principal 2026
Sagewood Preparatory School invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from January 2026. Being relatively small in size means that we need a principal who also teaches. There are 2 teaching posts available for 2026 in Grade 3 and Grade 5. If interested, the applicant must fulfill ALL necessary requirements for both the teaching position AND the Principal position. The candidate must be experienced in teaching in either Foundation Phase and/or Intermediate Phase with at least 5 years appropriate teaching experience.The candidate will also be expected to take part in the school's full extra-curricular programme.Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Provide strategic leadership and vision for the school.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
Oversee the management of staff, learners and resources.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Ensure compliance with education policies and regulations.
Build positive relationships with parents, the staff, the community and education authorities.
Ensure sound financial and operational management of the school.

The requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

Relevant teaching qualification (Bachelor of Education) from a recognized institution,
Must have a full and current SACE Registration,
Must have an excellent command of the English language,
Must have at least 5 years teaching experience,
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills,
Proven ability to manage staff and resources effectively.
