Counselling Social Worker

- Provide supportive intervention to sexual assault survivors (mainly 18+ but some work with adolescents) – this includes intake, assessment and on-going short-term intervention.
- Family work – Provide psychosocial support groups for family members/support persons of the sexual assault survivor.
- Support groups – Planning, recruitment, selection and facilitation of support groups for adult survivors.
- Administration and report writing – Individual reports, group reports, psycho-social assessment reports, referral reports and quarterly funder reports.
- Managing a filing system – both hardcopy and electronic files.
- Liase with all RC departmental programmes on team projects and inter-departmental work.
- Supervision of social auxiliary workers/students and social work students, as needed.
- Work closely with the Lay Counselling Service.
- Strong counselling skills
- Must be able to speak both Afrikaans and English
- Good report writing skills
- Able to multi–task effectively with good workload management
- Strong relationship and communication skills
- Good self-care and workplace wellness abilities
- Qualified Social Worker with proof of registration
- 3-5 years of experience in a social work service organisation
- Relevant police clearance
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- Driver’s licence required
- Previous training/experience in the GBV field will be an advantage
- Good written English
- Group work facilitation
