Pretoria - GautengManager: Finance & GovernanceJohannesburg NorthFull Time, Fixed Term ContractReports to: Managing DirectorRole OverviewThe organization seeks an experienced, driven, and innovative finance professional to join our catalytic team as a Finance Manager driving and managing all aspects of the entitys finance function.The Finance Manager will hold a very vertical finance function in the organization you are the full finance team! leading the strategic, innovation, and operational elements of the organizations finance needs. While the role is a vertical one, you will have the opportunity to work across the team, with members of the Shared Finance Services team, and with relevant donor, investor, and board-level stakeholders.The Finance Manager will be expected to oversee and hold all aspects of the organizations accounting, strategic financial management, budget planning and management, and board- and donor-facing financial reporting as required as well be responsible for the governance and compliance related matters of the organisation.Roles and responsibilitiesStrategic ManagementProvide strategic input regarding various aspects of budget processes and long-term business plansEnsure that the organisations financial systems, procedures and controls are effective, efficient, and in line with best practiceRecruit and manage staff to augment and strengthen the Finance Teams capacity and performanceb) Budgeting and ForecastingDetermine and compile the annual budget in collaboration with the Managing Director for Board approvalLiaise with Partner finance managers and CFOsMonitor and manage the cash flow requirements of the organisation and individual projects, identifying variances and ensuring that the necessary follow up action is takenPrepare income and expenditure forecasts for the organisationc) Financial Management and ReportingDrive and manage all financial reporting, including written reports, for private and public sector fundersBuild and strengthen relationships with funder/investor financial managers as relevant and requiredEnsure that monthly expense reports are prepared in accordance with funder-specific requirementsEnsure that the organisations finances are managed and accounted for in an effective, transparent and sustainable manner, in accordance with IFRSReview monthly general ledger accounts prepared by the Finance AdministratorEnsure that all relevant journals are processed on a monthly and annual basisReview monthly management account reports prepared by the Finance Administrator to ensure that they are in line with Board and entity requirementsPrepare and present quarterly submission of the financial reports to the Board of Directorsd) Key Performance Areas ActivitiesEnsure statutory compliance with the Companys Act, VAT Act, Labour Law and the Income Tax ActCollate and submit the monthly payroll to the Payroll Administrator, ensuring that all information is correctReview supporting documentation and authorise staff expense EFT paymentsConstruct and monitor reliable control systemsOversee that cash flow is appropriate and well managed for the organisations operationse) AuditEnsure that the statutory annual financial statements are prepared in terms of IFRSLiaise and manage the relationship with External auditorsEnsure that all queries and audit issues identified are addressed and resolved timeously.Present the annual financial statements and audit report to the Managing Director before finally presenting them to the Board of Directors for signaturef) GeneralAssist with any reasonable requests or tasks that ensure the success of organizationQualifications and ExperienceQualifications
- BCom Financial Management / BCom Accounting/CA Qualifications (will be advantageous)
- 5 years experience in a financial management role
- Membership of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants is beneficial
- Experience with SAGE and XERO accounting systems preferred
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Expertise with procedures and processes required for adequate planning, monitoring, and re-aligning of budgets
- Experience working in a lean finance team environment is preferable
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
