- Identify and source high-calibre IT professionals (e.g., software developers, data scientists, cybersecurity specialists, cloud architects) using job boards, social media (LinkedIn, GitHub), networking events, and referrals.
- Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to attract passive candidates in a competitive market.
- Build and maintain a talent pool for current and future IT roles.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand technical job requirements and create detailed job descriptions.
- Screen CVs, conduct initial telephonic/video interviews, and assess candidates’ technical and cultural fit.
- Coordinate technical assessments, panel interviews, and reference checks.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring timely communication with candidates and stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with clients (for agency recruiters) or internal hiring managers (for in-house recruiters).
- Provide market insights on IT skills demand, salary benchmarks, and recruitment trends in South Africa.
- Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the organization/client’s employer value proposition.
- Ensure recruitment processes comply with South African labour laws (e.g., Employment Equity Act, POPIA).
- Maintain accurate candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Prepare recruitment reports and metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, source effectiveness).
- The ability to learn quickly and be prepared to understand emerging technologies, and in-demand skills (e.g., Python, AWS, DevOps).
- Monitor competitor hiring practices and market conditions in South Africa’s IT sector.
- Experience:
- Proven track record of working with inbound and outbound sales.
- Experience dealing with both clients and candidates at all levels
- Experience using Professional platforms for sales and business development
- Strong telephone communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- The ability to perform under pressure
- Knowledge:
- Understanding the sales environment and knowing how to deal with people from all verticals of the market
- Familiarity with South African IT job market, salary ranges, and skills shortages.

- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in sourcing techniques (Boolean searches, X-ray searches).
- Ability to assess technical CVs and understand job-specific terminology.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and recruitment software.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with candidates and stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills for salary discussions and offer management.
- Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
