- Technician with an automotive qualification (Red Seal or equivalent) secures.
- French speaking.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technician after qualification (post-apprenticeship).
- French-speaking technician with an automotive qualification (Red Seal or equivalent).
- Experience in the VW or Audi brand would be highly advantageous.
- Experienced automotive trainer would be advantageous.
- Other in-dealer experience would be advantageous.
- Accreditation as a qualified assessor and moderator or demonstrated progress is required.
- Experience with course development and training principles is essential.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is important.
- In collaboration with the Instructional Design Team, compile training materials for designated programmes.
- Design, customise or refresh training material as directed by the company. This includes VW AG content customised to the South African market, existing materials and new local content for specific projects.
- The format of content required includes:
- Face-to-face training: Facilitator guide, participant guide, PowerPoint, assessments.
- Virtual classroom training: Facilitator guide, participant guide, PowerPoint guide, assessments.
- Web-based training: Content as required.
- Comply with versioning rules for cataloguing.
- Align all content development to meet competence-based learning outcomes.
- Ensure that all training activities and materials, including examinations and assessments, meet relevant organisational and statutory policies including health and safety.
- Assist the Technical Training Lead to scope and define learner paths for functional roles.
- Plan for new product introduction training (determined by model).
- Achieve an 80:20 blended learning strategy (20% theoretical and 80% practical).
- Ensure that all training activities and materials, including examinations and assessments, meet relevant organisational and statutory policies including health and safety.
- Deliver training according to the training schedules at the direction of the Technical Training Lead.
- Deliver training at venues or locations as directed by the Technical Training Lead.
- Undertake content development and revision on days when training delivery is not required.
- Deliver between 120 and 140 platform days per annum and attend 2 to 3 trips to VWAG per annum.
- Ensure utilisation of training information, tools and materials provided by the Academy.
- Deliver ad hoc training as directed.
- Travel to deliver training within South Africa and in Sub-Sahara markets will be a requirement for this role.
- All new product launch training must be designed and delivered. Compliance attendance for target audiences must be delivered as defined by brands per new model introductions.
- Support the training evaluation process according to Kirkpatrick levels 1 to 5, managed in alignment with specific training outcomes.
- Manage own course evaluations and ensure corrective actions are implemented where learners are underperforming.
- Report poor performance outcomes to the Non-Tech Training Lead for further action.
- Manage examination and assessment processes and resources according to VWSA and VWAG policy.
- Set relevant and meaningful questionnaires for all courses presented and test delegates to ensure competence on the course content.
- Use polls and online comments during virtual classroom sessions to provide valuable feedback on session effectiveness.
- Maintain OEM training standards and support VWSA Academy audits as required.
- This includes general housekeeping and day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of all training vehicles, classrooms, practical workspaces and training equipment.
- Build and maintain professional and effective relationships with dealer personnel, VWSA personnel, suppliers, service providers and preferred training bodies.
- Review and act on evaluations and feedback from dealer personnel, OEM personnel, suppliers, service providers and preferred training bodies.
- Promote a positive working relationship with internal and external customers and service providers.
- Undertake annual updates of all processes and align with the internal Quality Management System.
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to support ongoing improvement of business operations, specifically regarding process efficiency.
