To perform timely and effective mechanical maintenance and repairs across plant machinery, ensuring smooth operations, improved equipment reliability, and minimized downtime. The role focuses on achieving maintenance benchmarks like MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), while maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards.Key Responsibilities
Breakdown Maintenance
- Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Shift In-Charge in a timely manner
- Carry out mechanical repairs on faulty components within set timelines
- Record and report completed repair activities during each shift
- Maintain an organized record of departmental spare parts
- Ensure quick availability of essential components during breakdowns
- Conduct regular machine health checks and inspections
- Detect and report early signs of wear and potential faults
- Remain available during production shifts to support operations
- Take ownership of immediate fixes and escalate longer-term concerns
- Uphold safety standards and clean work practices
- Apply and promote 5S methodology in the workplace
Internal:
- Production Teams
- Electrical & Electronics Maintenance Teams
- Shift In-Charge and Maintenance Supervisors
- Occasional interaction with external service technicians or vendors for component support (as assigned)
Education:
- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 4 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities
- Familiarity with rotating equipment and plant machinery
- Knowledge of Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S systems
- Quick responder with strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable team player with solid communication and documentation skills
