- Responsible for the trial balance, income statement & balance sheet
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis (including inventory costing and work in progress)
- Processing and recordkeeping of all adjustment journals, to be approved by Group Financial Manager & Director
- Preparation and reporting on monthly management accounts to management
- Performing day end, month end and year-end on SYSPRO system
- Expense provisions management
- Nedfleet management
- Work in Progress reconciliation
- GRN Accrual Reconciliation
- Costing review on BOMs
- Slitting and Recovery cost allocations
- Overhead Costs allocation within various divisions
- General Balance Sheet Accounting and Budget reporting
- Assist with Sales trend vs Production cycle analysis
- Draw up forecast model on costs per division and consolidate
- Setup and review BOMs for products and services
- Labour and OHC reversals on jobs posted incorrectly by Floor personnel
- Maintain Stock codes
- Attend stock takes and review findings
- Review and process COD payments
- Review Monthly creditor reconciliations and process payments
- Review Debtors’ book with Branch Manager
- Review Cash book allocations and reconciliations
- Cashflow forecast planning
- Monthly VAT Returns
- Ad hoc requests from Branch Manager
- Syspro Month end and cost roll up on BOM
- Work in Progress reconciliation
- Goods in Transit reconciliation
- Transport Cost reconciliation
- Handling fee reconciliation
- Rebate reconciliation
- Recovery calculation and reconciliation
- General Balance Sheet Accounting and Budget Reporting
- Compilation and capturing of budget into Syspro
- Comparing and reviewing monthly variance of actual to budget
- Attend stock takes and review findings
- Ad hoc requests from Branch Managers
- Loading payments on bank when required
- Internal controls regarding creditors are in accordance with Company standard, limit of authority
- Reviewing allocated Creditors teams and managing clerks
- Petty cash – processing of documentation
- Managing and overseeing the filing of all required documentation
- To ensure internal controls at branches are in accordance with Company standard and in line with relevant legislation and limits of authority
- Reviewing, designing, documenting, and implementing systems of internal control
- Communication and training of internal controls for relevant staff
- Regular internal audits at branches
- Updating and reconciling of fixed asset registers
- Ensure depreciation is processed monthly
- Preparation of a profit and loss on sale or write-off schedule
- Handling purchase documents for new assets, creating purchase orders after Excom approval
- Instalment Sales Agreements:
- Allocation of interest paid and deferred interest
- Balancing of ISA control account to monthly statements
- Yearly asset verification
- Preparation of audit file
- Liaising with auditors
- Resolving auditors’ queries
- Processing of year-end journals
- Matric
- BCom Accounting Degree / Management Accounting
- Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience required as an Accountant within a Manufacturing / Retail industry
- Experience required working with Bill of Materials (BOMs) within the Steel Industry
- Inventory work in progress experience / management required within the Manufacturing industry
- Need to have experience with multi-network of Branches / sites across the country – need to handle pressure & volumes
- Experience required within a large corporate environment
- Syspro experience will be advantageous
- Must have a strong personality
- Candidate must have a stable work record
- Candidate must be presentable and have good communication skills
- Candidate must not crack under pressure
- Very deadline driven orientated
