The successful candidate will be a FAIS-accredited underwriter with a minimum of 5 years experience in Commercial Lines. Proficiency in CIMS and the Santam mainframe is essential, as is the ability to work independently and maintain accuracy in a paperless environment. Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail are a must.Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, clients, insurers, and suppliersProvide expert advice on policy covers, terms, and conditionsManage the full underwriting process: quotes, new business, renewals, and endorsementsEnsure compliance with Service Level Agreements and Binder agreementsMaintain accurate records on internal CRM systemsMonitor and manage credit control for the assigned portfolioEvaluate risks and negotiate terms with insurers and brokersKeep up to date with industry trends and product developmentsMinimum Requirements:FAIS accredited (relevant qualification and RE5)At least 5 years experience in Commercial Lines UnderwritingProficient in CIMS and the Santam mainframeAble to work with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh attention to detailComfortable in a paperless working environmentRemuneration:Salary is commensurate with experienceThis is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, skilled underwriter to become part of a highly regarded brokerage known for its professional service and strong industry relationships.
