Estimator and Technical Specifications Support

• Estimations of sheeting & flashing requirements from drawings for quoting purposes
• Compiling cutting list on smaller projects for cash customers
• Liaising with the Main Drawing office ensuring drawings are sent through for compiling cutting lists
• Doing site measurements when required
• Attending site meetings with the relevant Sales person on project-related work
• Site inspections to ensure roofing systems have been installed according to the company manual for applications of warranties
• Managing the process of applying and issuing of Material and workmanship warranties on projects
• Ensure that all warranties are recorded properly for future access and reference
• Quality Assurance of profile for Mill on-site rolling
• Work very closely with the Sales team to promote Service Excellence on technical backup
• Problem-solving on site
• Report to the Specifications Manager and assist the Specifications department in updating the Specifications Database to create a more accurate pipeline
• Assist the Specifications department in setting up appointments if required
• Liaising with Architects and engineers regarding queries, offering technical support regarding Company materials and application of products

• Matric Certificate
• NQF4 or equivalent, preferably Architectural and or Engineering background will be an advantage
• Ability to understand and interpret Technical Drawings and Project Specifications
• Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
• Knowledge and understanding of various Roofing Products, Materials and Roofing Systems
• Strong aptitude for Math and Trigonometry
• Strong Draughting ability relating to the building and structural steel industry
• Experience in AutoCAD 2D, 3D and Revit
• Computer Literacy is essential (MS Office)
• Demonstrate Leadership, self-confidence and vision in major projects or initiatives
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in a production environment in the steel industry is essential
• Sound knowledge of and experience in the South African roof sheeting industry is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent Time Management Skills
