Job Specification Job Title: Projects EngineerLocation: Johannesburg
Salary: R55 000 CTC per month + Car Allowance & Fuel Card
Reporting To: Senior Manager – Proposals and ProjectsMain Purpose of the Role:The Projects Engineer is responsible for the planning and management of project orders from initiation through to delivery. The role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within specification, and within budget, while maintaining high quality and compliance with contractual and company standards.Key Responsibilities:Review and interpret project documentation, including technical, commercial, and contractual requirements.Perform mechanical and electrical design in collaboration with the client and the Company’s drawing office.Attend weekly invoicing meetings to align on project billing and progress.Ensure all projects are managed in accordance with the Company’s terms and conditions, or specific contractual agreements.Maintain control of the document register and transmittal processes, including both incoming and outgoing documentation (Document control support available).Create and update project schedules using MS Project, and provide customer progress reports in coordination with the PPC team.Upload bills of materials (BOMs) into Syspro.Create production files and coordinate with the production team as necessary.Provide regular progress updates to both clients and internal management.Facilitate meetings with client project teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery.Compile and submit final data books for project close-out.Assist the Company’s Quality Control (QC) team with testing activities when required.Support site teams during installation and commissioning phases.Attend site and customer meetings as necessary.Assist the Proposals team with technical inputs and participate in tender meetings when required.Execute any reasonable tasks assigned by the leadership team.Comply with the Company’s health and safety policies and ensure ISO 9001 quality standards are met.Minimum Requirements:Education:Matric (Grade 12)Relevant post-matric technical qualification (N6, S4, or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or similar)Experience:Minimum 3 years’ experience in the LV MCC or electrical panel manufacturing industryMinimum 3 years of experience in project managementHands-on experience in design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning of electrical panelsTechnical Skills:Strong computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS ProjectsExperience with ERP systems such as Syspro is advantageousAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsOther Requirements:Excellent communication and coordination skillsAttention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented approachValid driver’s license (advantageous for site visits)
