The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day human resources operations. The role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company’s goals while promoting a positive workplace culture. This role will support employee development, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and organizational change, ensuring that the company remains an employer of choice in the energy sector.Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Post-graduate qualification or certification in HR (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior HR role, preferably within the renewable energy, engineering, or technical sectors.
- Proven experience in managing the full HR function, from recruitment to compliance.
- Experience in driving organizational change, managing employee relations, and overseeing HR policies.
- Knowledge of South African labour law and regulations.
- Proficient in HRIS and HR software applications (e.g., SAP, Workday, or similar platforms).
- High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to manage employee relations and foster a collaborative culture.
HR Strategy Development
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s goals, ensuring that people-related needs are effectively managed as the company grows.
- Oversee the full recruitment cycle, ensuring that the company attracts and retains the right talent.
- Work closely with hiring managers to fill vacancies, conduct interviews, and streamline onboarding processes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships between employees and management.
- Address any grievances or conflicts, ensuring adherence to company policies and fostering a positive working environment.
- Implement and manage performance management systems, including setting KPIs, conducting performance appraisals, and identifying areas for employee development.
- Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, focusing on both technical and soft skills.
- Support career development opportunities and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with all local labour laws, health and safety regulations, and HR best practices.
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies in line with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Manage employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity. Oversee payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
- Foster a positive company culture through employee engagement initiatives, wellbeing programs, and employee recognition systems.
- Track HR metrics and provide regular reports on key people-related data to senior leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
