A leading food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong expertise in plant maintenance, mechanical and electrical systems, and people management to join their team in Cato Ridge. The successful candidate will oversee the full engineering function on-site, including preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, process improvement, and leadership of a multidisciplinary team. The role includes responsibility for compliance with statutory regulations, budget management, and project implementation.Responsibilities:Lead and manage the maintenance and engineering function across the facilityDevelop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptimeEnsure compliance with Food Safety, Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulationsImplement continuous improvement strategies to reduce downtime and increase efficiencyManage engineering budgets, including capital expenditure and cost controlPlan and supervise installation, calibration, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks in engineering operationsLead and develop a high-performing team including Maintenance Managers, Engineers, and SupervisorsOversee internal and external projects, including commissioning and decommissioning of equipmentConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actionsMaintain compliance with ISO and company standards, including logging and closing off non-conformancesCollaborate with cross-functional departments such as Production, Supply Chain, SHEQ, HR, and FinanceEnsure systems such as Syspro, Jarrison, SharePoint, and Shopware are used effectivelyRequirements:BTech or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringGCC (Government Certificate of Competency) - essentialMinimum of 5 years' management experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong plant-level engineering knowledge and proven leadership experienceExperience with P&L management within the maintenance functionProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant ERP/time & attendance systemsStrong interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and team development skillsFamiliarity with PLC systems and automation would be advantageousBenefits:
