Contact person for this position: Ronel BakkerWebsite:Job OverviewMy client in the Industrial Supplies Industry is looking for an experienced Sales Representative to join their team in Killarney Gardens.You will be responsible for generating revenue by identifying and securing new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and promoting the company's products in a designated territory.Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to:)Sales and business development
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and client visits.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Present, promote, and sell products using solid sales techniques to existing and prospective customers.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of sale with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
Customer relationship management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive long-term business growth.
  • Understand customer needs, provide appropriate solutions, and address any concerns in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to maximise revenue.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Market and sales strategy execution
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Develop and execute sales plans in alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to refine sales strategies and improve performance.
  • Track sales performance, analyse trends, and adjust approaches as needed to optimise results.
Reporting and analytics
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business transactions using the company's CRM system.
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports to the Sales Director.
  • Analyse sales data to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve sales processes and customer engagement.
Collaboration and operational efficiency
  • Work closely with internal departments (customer service, stores, front office) to streamline sales processes.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and sales events to stay updated on company developments and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Know-How, Technical Skills and Experience
  • Matric/Grade 12 (NQF 4) is essential
  • Bachelor's degree/B.Tech in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years proven experience as an external sales representative preferably in a wholesale and retail industry
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies, CRM software and sales operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
