- Provide formal teaching of Human Geography and GIS modules for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Provide study leadership at postgraduate level.
- Be actively involved in research.
- Recruit postgraduate students.
- Supervise and provide consultation sessions for postgraduate students.
- Source external research funding and forge linkage with the industry.
- Perform general administration duties as applicable at university level.
Lecturer
- Master's degree in Geography or related discipline on NQF Level 9 passed with a minimum of 70% (please attach academic record).
- Commitment to register for a doctoral degree in Geography at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
- A PhD degree on NQF Level 10 in Geography or closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in presentation of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
- Results oriented.
- The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
- Strategic thinking:
- The ability to focus on details, work towards perfection, and approach work in a neat and organised manner.
- Business Acumen:
- Proficient in using MS Office.
- Leading:
- The ability to be cooperative with others, display a good-natured attitude and encourage people to work together.
