Fleet Supervisor - Cape TownFull job descriptionPurpose:The position's primary purpose is to ensure that all maintenance and repairs are kept in line with the company and manufacturer's standards and specifications. To manage quality within the transport legislation, following safe working procedures and environmental issues within a planned maintenance program.General Description:The maintenance supervisor is responsible for the Workshop Staff and the smooth operation of the workshop with adherence to Health and Safety compliance regulations, ensuring that all required vehicle checks are completed and actioned. All vehicles in the fleet are to be checked for overall condition and adherence to health & safety requirements, legislative transport requirements, andindividual contract requirements and maintained in a condition consistent with the company brand. They are keeping adequate supervision of jobs and quality checks during and through to completion.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Fully in charge of the workshop at times when the Fleet Manager is unavailable.Keep general workshop materials stocked in conjunction with Fleet Manager.Ensure workshop staff understands job specifications and timeframes for the job—support workshop staff in completing assignments and developing skills.Sign off Job Cards as complete and complete an initial quality check before work is released to Operations.Forward job cards via Internal system for processing.Verifying the accuracy of job cards, receiving, reporting, and other administrative paperwork. Forward to Production ManagerIt identifies and implements work areas that can be improved in production in conjunction with the fleet Manager.Work cooperatively with management to meet company needs.Be prepared to take smoke and lunch breaks at other than the standard times if need required.Be available for regular staff meetings as required by management.To maintain all of the shop's equipment, such as non-electric, electric, and air-powered tools, torches, grinders, and presses, and oversee the maintenance of the equipment by workers.Equipment maintenance might involve inspection for damage or wear and cleaning and repair as needed.We may need to contact an outside repair service if staff can't complete the maintenance, negotiate benefits, and arrange a date and time to complete the work.Based on the need to order new equipment via the company requisition process.Completion or management of office-related tasks, e.g., creating or reviewing additional documentation throughout the day, including work orders, invoices, employee records, time sheets, and equipment inspection or repair reports.To order materials to complete a work order or shop supplies as needed.If the shop can make any materials or supplies in-house, add the work to the shop's upcoming work schedule.Will be expected to help with the completion of work orders.Will review job or project specs or creates drawings or specifications based on the needs of our clients.To offers time and material estimates or recommend outside contractors or vendors.To perform labor, such as vehicle maintenance or product manufacturing, alongside his subordinates.When issues arise, to help resolve them quickly to get production moving and meet deadlines.Once a work order is completed, to discusses the work with management.Will be required to perform worker evaluations and provide feedback to HR.Will be required to train new employees or manages their training.Needs to match employees with specific tasks based on their skill or expertise, creates and posts work schedules, and updates workers about schedule changes and deadlinesKnowledge, skills, and requirements:Administrative Writing Skills,Sound technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and other systems relating to commercial vehiclesVerbal Communication,The highest level of confidentiality and integrity maintainedNon-disclosure of company information, records, or other forms of company data to any parties without permission and in the course of businessProfessionalism and ability to act confidentiallyOrganizationTeamworkAttention to detailNumerical ability and data entry skills.Ability to work to deadlines.Knowledge of general office practices and proceduresKnowledge of general IT systems and applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and databasesExperience in prioritizing workload, time management, and dealing with conflicting prioritiesAbility to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.Reducing downtime on all vehicle breakdowns or servicesRaising job satisfaction and morale of the workshop staffMeeting or exceeding key deliverables, fleet issues, productivity, efficiency, and on-time completionMinimum requirements:Five years experience in managing a fleet of diesel or other commercial vehicles of at least 50 vehiclesDiesel mechanic qualification or similarIndustry knowledge and best practice applied and demonstratableComputer Skills – essential ( MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Pastel)Able to analyze dataUnderstanding of Legislation relevant to industrial relations aligned with the business and industryAttention to detailAble to work with peopleDrivers license code ECMatric or higher qualificationJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: R15 000,00 - R18 000,00 per monthEducation:Certificate (Preferred)Experience:Commercial Fleet: 5 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Code 14 License (Preferred)
