- Technical-legal knowledge and understanding of Section 37C of the Pension Funds Act and general knowledge of the common law, and other legislation- Administration of Deceased Estates Act, Intestate Succession, Divorce Act etc.).
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills.

- Ability to withstand significant work pressure.
- Ensure all information sent in for the withdrawal, retirement and surplus claims have been taken into account and verified on the appropriate systems.
- Ensure all EMS queries received are responded to within 48 hours
- All claims are processed with the sole purpose of ensuring the benefit is paid timeously without delay
- Check claim documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with fund rules and legislative requirements.
- Liaise with employers, members, and third parties for outstanding or supporting information.
- Communicate claim status and outcomes to members and stakeholders clearly and professionally.
- Respond promptly to queries via email, telephone, and other channels.
- Provide guidance on claim requirements and processes.
- Ensure all claims are finalised within agreed turnaround times and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain strict confidentiality of member information and handle data according to regulatory standards.
- Identify and escalate any potential risks, irregularities, or fraud.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on systems and trackers.
- Contribute to daily, weekly, or monthly reporting on claims volumes and turnaround times.
- Support internal audits and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure workload is managed effectively.
- Share knowledge and assist in training new team members when required.
- Contribute to process improvements and suggest ideas to enhance service delivery
- May act as mentor to less experienced administrators.
- Delivers on daily production standards.
- Follows standardized processes and provides administrative support in line with normal business functioning.
- Provides an indirect service to the Principal Officer, Fund, members, beneficiaries and intermediaries.
- Responds to immediate administrative requirements within procedure.
- Uses standard administrative techniques to coordinate own work.
- Ensure regulatory and legislative compliance.
