
Assistant Catering Manager

- Strong understanding of hygiene, food safety, and R638 compliance
- HACCP or Food Safety training (advantageous)
- Experience managing meal service in a clinical setting
- Staff supervision, scheduling, and training skills
- Ability to maintain portion control, food quality, and presentation standards
- Stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with medical and kitchen staff
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict meal service deadlines
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Physically fit, reliable, and committed to high standards of patient care
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and patient meal requirements
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, email, stock systems)
- Matric / Grade 12 (compulsory)
- Minimum 2-3 years'experience in a hospital catering environment (essential)
- Previous supervisory or assistant management experience
