Head of Trusts - JhbFull job descriptionThe Head of Trusts will formulate and lead the strategic direction of the Trusts, overseeing the implementation and execution thereof, and ensuring that the Trusts achieve their vision and strategic intent. The incumbent will ensure that the service level agreement (SLA) and client strategies are delivered according to plan and to standard and will build strategic engagements with external stakeholders to support the delivery of the Trusts’ strategies. This will be achieved by leading the development and implementation of strategies, managing relationships effectively, and delivering high-impact social investment solutions. Additionally, the incumbent will take the lead in the management of the service providers of the Trusts, ensuring that high quality services and effective social investment strategies are delivered to the client in a manner that fosters client satisfaction and retention.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS, ACTIVITIES, AND INDICATORSLead the strategic management and implementation of the Trusts’ strategies, monitoring and reporting functions.Lead the Trusts in providing strategic insights and leadership to develop and strengthen the Trusts’ positioning and strategies.Lead the formulation and execution of the Trusts’ strategies to deliver on the defined Key Performance Indicators.Present strategy outcomes and implement lessons learned.Work closely with the Head of Social Impact to develop and implement social investment strategies and monitoring and evaluation frameworks that align to and enhance the Trusts’ social investment objectives.Evaluate and report on the impact of strategies by working with the Social Impact and the Monitoring and Evaluation teams to undertake required research, and to collate, analyse, and report by agreed upon deadlines.Oversee the formulation of the annual budget and the allocation of funds to the various programmes in support of strategic delivery.Lead the stakeholder relationship management function.Proactively build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including implementing partners.Build relationships and partnerships that strengthen the implementation of the client strategy, supported by stakeholder engagement and implementation plans.Lead the strengthening of the client thought leadership and positioning in the sector by developing strategies that support the communication of outcomes and other relevant messages to the target audience.Collaborate effectively with the Communications Department to manage third-party organisations that deliver on the Trusts’ marketing, public relations, and communication agendas, including the oversight of the development and maintenance of a website and corporate identity of the Trusts.Lead the management of internal and external thought leadership opportunities by means of channels such as knowledge sharing sessions, the development of relevant social media platforms, and the publication of thought leadership content.Monitor new developments in the sector, trends, and regulations – testing innovative approaches to ensure that the Trusts’ activities remain effective, resilient, ethical, and well-governed.Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the Trusts by actively promoting the Trusts’ work, networking, and developing beneficial relationships.Work with the Chief Operating Officer and Trustees to determine advocacy priorities and oversee a programme of research papers, thought leadership and campaigns.Manage the day-to-day operations of the TrustsWork closely with Heads of Departments to ensure the implementation of the Trusts strategies are in line with policies and procedures.Identify and resolve risks/challenges that impact the client’s strategies.Fulfil statutory responsibilities as the Head of the Trusts, in partnership with other Heads of Departments on behalf of the client.Develop project plans for the internal team to ensure effective and high-quality service delivery to the client, on deadline and to standard to ensure client satisfaction and retention.Develop relationships with all internal stakeholders to ensure effective and professional implementation of the strategies.Implement business approach to client management by complying and delivering to standards on an ongoing basis.Maintain accountabilities for all deliverables submitted to the client by overseeing, commenting, amending, and providing feedback before deliverables are distributed to the client.Track the profitability of the client and ensure effective resource allocation to the client.Ensure that client meetings are planned for, and that the necessary supporting documentation is delivered on time and to standard.Monitor budget approvals. Working closely with the Finance Department, ensure that the management accounts are up-to-date and accurate, and that the annual external audit is conducted on time and to standard.Lead and manage adherence to and report on the delivery of the SLA by collecting information, and by developing and submitting reports on time and to standard.Negotiate SLAs and management fees with the client in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.Complete internal management reports accurately against defined standards, resolving issues within SLA.Develop and submit any other reports by collecting the required information and making submissions according to the defined structures.Lead and manage staffAs a member of the leadership team, implement leadership and management techniques and strategies to develop a motivated and optimally performing team that is aligned to company's values.Live the company's values and lead according to the leadership manifesto to deliver on the Trusts’ strategies.Build an environment that is conducive to optimal performance.Oversee the policies and procedures necessary for the Trusts activities to be compliant with all applicable legislations, regulations, policies, guidelines, and best practices.Work collaboratively with Human Capital Management and Corporate Services to facilitate career pathing, performance management, and succession management.Ensure that regular feedback is provided regarding performance as per the performance management policy.Ensure that your team’s knowledge of the sector and current trends remains relevant and up to date by implementing professional development plans of the team.Qualifications and ExperienceHonours Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Commerce or similar (Master’s degree is preferred).At least 10 years’ experience working in the education sector.Demonstrate strong relationships with stakeholders involved in the education sector.5–7 years of client relationship/account management/project management experience.A minimum of 2 years leading, developing, and implementing programmes and solutions in sustainability, corporate social investments, and/or transformation experience is preferred.Job Type: Full-timeApplication Deadline: 2024/03/30
