Quality Manager - Automotive - JhbFull job descriptionOur client, a well established and expanding multinational, has a challenging career opportunity for a top class Quality Manager - AutomotiveAn Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management or related and a proven record of 10 years' experience (of which 5 years' experience should be at senior management level) gained in an automotive / manufacturing environment is requiredExcellent leadership, management, organisational and planning skills and expert knowledge of IATF 16949/ISO 9001, ISO 14001 systems and auditing. Experience in production, customer and supplier quality control systems and knowledge of implementation and maintenance of Integrated Management System (IMS).SAMTRAC + risk management certification, exposure to HSE and injection moulding and/or extrusion experience advantageous.Develop, manage, supervise and co-ordinate work systems to ensure that the products of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working practices of the company are implemented and delivered in line with statutory and regulatory standardsResponsible for implementing, co-ordinating and monitoring the company’s quality and HSE strategyMaintain and continuously improve IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and VDA 6.3 certificationsEnsure that QMS high level structured documented procedures are developed, implemented and continually improved for maximum outputEnsure statutory and regulatory compliance by conducting internal SHEQ audits as per statutory and customer requirementsCustodian of the quality mark scheme certification process for relevant productsPlan, co-ordinate and manage group activities and processes to achieve business objectivesEnsure that the Company and its contractors comply with the requirements of legislation by monitoring SHE complianceLead cross-functional teams in solving quality issues (G8D’s)Work closely with production to ensure process improvements also achieves quality objectivesManage and improve customer, supplier and production quality processesDevise, implement and improve procedures for the inspection and report on quality standardsEnsure that manufacturing processes comply with quality standards at both national and international levelReport all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate corrective actionCreate reports to track progressFacilitate pro-active solutions by collecting and analysing quality dataKeep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentationWriting and presentation of management reportsAssessing customer requirements and ensuring that these are metSpecify quality requirements of raw materials and components with suppliersTraining, motivating and coaching employees to ensure that quality standards are metEnsure full compliance with the OHS Act with the future goal of becoming ISO 45 001 certifiedOccasional local and international travelFor more information please contact:Michael Ellis
