UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY to join a high calibre, highly collaborative tech team in a well-established fintech company serving the employee benefits insurance sector.** THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR THE AVERAGE SQL DEV.This role requires regular interactions with clients business analysts (or systems teams) to establish requirements for new enhancements.You must then analyse these requirements in order to build new business functions or enhance existing ones using T-SQL, to ensure that quality work is delivered in accordance with the clients specification.For example, developing workflows (using our clients integrated workflow tool) to design business process flows, or develop customised screensIf you have been told by colleagues, cilents or management that communication is a strength and/or you have client communication experience, keep reading...Minimum Requirements Include

B.SC Actuarial Science, IT related B. Com or B.Sc. (IT) degree.

Relevant experience
T-SQL in Microsoft SQL Server Environment
SSIS
Joins, temp tables, CTEs, variable tables, functions, user defined functions
**DEAL BREAKER: Knowledge of finance (Accounting, Investments, and unit pricing)
**DEAL BREAKER: Experienced with (non-tech) client communication

Key Performance Areas Include..

Identifying drawbacks and make appropriate improvements, in addition, the person will identify existing problems and implement appropriate solutions (using company tracking system)
Interactions with clients business analysts (or systems teams) to establish requirements for new enhancements.
Analyse client requirements in order to build new business functions or enhance existing ones using T-SQL, to ensure that quality work is delivered in accordance with the clients specification
Testing of various procedures and their interactions
Resolve support queries that are logged on our issue log system by using and interpreting existing stored procedures
Analyse and resolve any system errors originating from the database
Query optimization
Writing of reports and creating report templates
Data conversion, and data cleansing will be required at times. Knowledge of SSIS would be advantageous
Liaising with their training department to document any new processes or changes to existing ones
