- Supervise the in-house sales representatives team in handling product inquiries and providing quotations. This responsibility will also extend to external sales.
- Draft purchase orders for managerial approval.
- Ensure the products delivered comply with the specifications before dispatching them to customers.
- Cultivate sound relationships with existing OEMs
- Identify potential OEMs during mining and industry visits
- Manage the sales team, maintain important documents, and communicate crucial information.
- Generate daily lists of leads for the sales team. Also assist the sales team with administrative work, such as scheduling meetings and conferences with customers.
- Provide assistance to the executive and management teams as necessary.
- Keep the sales team motivated and driven to fulfill their sales targets.
- Routinely check the sales team's inventory to ensure they have enough materials, such as brochures and presentation slides, to effectively demonstrate products and services to potential and existing clients.
- Handle customer complaints, queries, and offer post-sale support when required.
- Develop and manage secure file systems to store and record sale-related items like records, reports, and financial information, and produce reports.
- Carry out data entry tasks related to metrics, sales figures, and other important data.
- Help in preparing and sending quotations to customers, and accurately inputting sales orders, ensuring their timely processing and delivery.
- Process expedited requests, rush orders, and modify sales orders and dispatch details as needed.
- Inform clients about any unforeseen delays or issues.
- Monitor the team's progress, identify any shortcomings, and suggest improvements.
- Assist in preparing and organizing promotional materials or events.
- Ensure compliance with laws and policies.
- Be proactive in the sales of products and services, customer acquisition, and maintaining existing customer relationships.
- Identify and register in new customers databases, get vendor approval in South Africa and selected African countries as directed by management.
- Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a similar field. A qualification in Engineering would be an advantage.
- Training in consumer shopping habits, leadership skills, management, and marketing strategies would be beneficial.
- A minimum of 10 years work experience in sales, procurement, or related areas, preferably in a technical, engineering, or industrial sector.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Remarkable sales and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing consumer data to enhance sales operations.
- Knowledge of trends and regulations in the Power / Solar industry/sector.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Ability to collaborate with other department heads to formulate effective marketing strategies.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in staff optimization and team development.
- Skills in budgeting, budget forecasting, and budget management.
- Strategic thinking.
- Stress management.
- Fluency in English both verbal and written. French is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, work independently and as part of a team, and perform under pressure.
