Job Summary The Quantity Surveyor will work with the property development team and will be involved in the refurbishment and fit out of existing buildings. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for measurements, bills of quantity, cost reporting and cost management aligned to programme, sub-contractor liaison, contract administration and preparation of final accounts. Key Role Responsibilities: • Initiate claims, correctly documented and referenced to the conditions of contract • Ensure variation orders, site instructions, day work's and increased cost claims are included in interim valuations and filed for record keeping • Ensure Contract Price Adjustments entitlements are claimed from the Clients and paid to the Sub-Contractors as per the contract conditions • Initiate claim register, update them and action items • Assess and certify Sub-Contractors payment certificates Minimum Requirements • Matric/Grade 12 with tertiary qualification as B-tech in Quantity Surveying or similar • At least 5-7 years in the Engineering/Construction Industry • Must be computer literate in MS Office • Must have a driver's license Key Competencies / Skills • Strong verbal and written skills and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow • Ability to work under pressure • Strong numerical and analytical skills • Ability to communicate clearly - verbal and written • A solid understanding of contract conditions such as NEC and FIDIC • Must be deadline driven.
