Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled procurement professional to take ownership of commodity strategy within their Connectivity/Powertrain division. This is a high-impact role requiring a balance of strategic thinking, supplier management, and hands-on leadership in sourcing.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement supplier strategies to ensure a balanced, competitive portfolio and reduce risk.Drive localization strategies in collaboration with cross-divisional teams to secure optimal sourcing outcomes.Lead high-value projects using specialist knowledge to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.Monitor commercial, technical, legal, and delivery aspects to ensure achievement of commodity objectives.Prevent production interruptions by supporting buyers with problem-solving and supplier negotiations.Prepare and deliver reports, tracking progress against KPIs and recommending corrective actions where required.Support and mentor junior buyers with training, negotiation guidance, and project implementation.Manage raw material forecasts and risks in line with group strategy.Essential Requirements:A National Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Logistics, Commerce, Finance, or Business Management.Minimum 5 years' procurement experience within the automotive or related industry.Strong knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and legal frameworks.Proven track record in supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and commodity management.Advanced analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills.Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Added Advantage:German language skills.Experience in harness purchasing.Why Join?This opportunity offers exposure to large-scale strategic projects within a global group, with the chance to influence procurement decisions at a high level.
