Our client, an integrated producer, packer, and marketer within the Food Production industry based in the Citrusdal Valley, Western Cape, has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to fill the role of Post Harvest Quality Specialist.Join a forward-thinking company that is a leader in the citrus industry, specializing in vertical integration as a producer, packer, and exporter. As a Post Harvest Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving product quality and global market access through the implementation of international best practices and a systems approach.Minimum Requirements:Education and Experience:
  • Must have Citrus Knowledge
  • Qualification in Agriculture Science or Horticulture (Postgraduate Beneficial) with Continuous Learning Attitude
  • 1-2 Years of Experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, Power BI Beneficial
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong Interpersonal, Leadership, and Communication Skills
  • Willingness and Ability to Work and Prosper Within a Team Environment
  • Self-Motivated, Driven, Resilient, and Humble
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gather and report Post Harvest Quality metrics, facilitating informed decisions on product market allocation.
  • Implement and report on Harvest & Post Harvest Protocols to uphold international best practices.
  • Analyze and interpret Spray Records, ensuring compliance with Maximum Residue Limits (MRL).
  • Provide approvals for orchard harvests based on assessments of quality and maturity.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting on Arrival Quality, ensuring adherence to set standards.
  • Integrate and analyze data for comprehensive insights, facilitating effective decision-making.
  • Report to growers on relevant metrics and findings.
  • Analyze Customer Repack data, contributing to effective customer relations.
  • Handle technical aspects and data input related to shipping claims.
  • Evaluate shelf life, contributing to product quality and longevity.
  • Collect and communicate information for Customer Due Diligence and sustainability reporting.
  • Represent the industry through networking and active participation.
Salary negotiable depending on experience.
