Location: CPT - CBDDuties & Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting
- Prepare BOQs (Bills of Quantities) and cost estimates for industrial projects (oil & gas, power plants, mining).
- Analyze tender documents and provide competitive pricing.
- Monitor project budgets and track variations.
- Contract Administration
- Administer FIDIC, NEC, or JBCC contracts (depending on project).
- Manage subcontractor agreements and payment certifications.
- Handle variation orders, claims, and disputes.
- Procurement & Cost Control
- Source materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Conduct cost benchmarking and value engineering.
- Track actual vs. budgeted costs and report variances.
- Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) regulations.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and project managers on financial matters.
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying (accredited by SACQSP).
- Professional Registration (PrQS or Candidate) with SACQSP (advantageous).
- Proficiency in QS software (Cubit, CostX, WinQS, or similar).
- Experience in industrial projects (refineries, power plants, mining).
- Understanding of M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) costing (advantageous).
- Knowledge of SANS 1200 (Standard System of Measuring Building Work).
- 3+ years in construction/maintenance QS roles (oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry preferred).
- Experience with lump sum, reimbursable, and EPCM contracts.
