- Compile comprehensive tender specifications, including pricing, commercial conditions, comments, deviations, and technical details.
- Prepare and submit technical proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
- Develop cost estimates considering materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
- Analyse requirements, drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates
- Collaborate with projects, engineering, and other teams to understand client requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs) for suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications and terms.
- Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to identify suitable equipment, materials, and services for proposed solutions.
- Coordinate activities, resources, equipment and information and deliver engineering projects according to plan.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contactors and sub-contactors
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors/suppliers/partners/OEMs
- Analyze RFP documents, specifications, and technical requirements to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
- Coordinating and improving the tender/proposal submission process
- Ensuring compliance to tender administrative and mandatory requirements
- Review of CVs, Qualifications, References and Certificates to align to mandatory tender requirements.
- Ensure that the bid process is followed, and proper templates are used
- Quality assurance and proof reading of the final proposal / tender documents
- Participate in proposal presentations and site briefings with clients, providing technical clarifications
- Complete BOQ and Technical Data if required
- Printing, assembling, binding and dispatching the final proposal / tender documents
- To undertake professional development activities to maintain and extent competence.
- Undertake Specific Client Training as required to fulfil role.
- Undertake other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post as required from time to time.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- National Diploma Electrical Engineer
- B-Tech in Electrical Engineer (Advantage)
- 3-5 years Experience of formal estimating and pricing bids and proposal experience in an electrical engineering environment, industrial electrical projects and tenders, including experience with Motor Control Centers (MCC) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) projects.
- 3.5 years Experience in reading and analysing requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs).
- Experience with reading and analyzing technical requirements and drawings, with knowledge of Variable Speed Drives and SCADA systems.
- Experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry (Advantage)
