- Analyze tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Develop and prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules, and bid proposals.
- Lead and coordinate the estimating process across multiple disciplines.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
- Evaluate and compare subcontractor/supplier quotations and negotiate as required.
- Conduct risk analysis and value engineering on project bids.
- Collaborate with the project and design teams to ensure alignment with project scope and strategy.
- Prepare project budgets and cost breakdowns for internal approval.
- Assist with post-tender negotiations and contract handovers to project teams.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and support staff.
- Maintain historical cost database and update estimating tools.
- Monitor and report on market trends, material prices, and labor costs.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in estimating within the [construction / engineering / manufacturing] industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Strong knowledge of local and international construction/engineering standards and market rates.
- Proven track record in preparing winning bids for large-scale projects.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent numerical and financial acumen
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Sound understanding of contract types (FIDIC, NEC, JBCC)
