Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop and prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules, and bid proposals.
  • Lead and coordinate the estimating process across multiple disciplines.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor/supplier quotations and negotiate as required.
  • Conduct risk analysis and value engineering on project bids.
  • Collaborate with the project and design teams to ensure alignment with project scope and strategy.
  • Prepare project budgets and cost breakdowns for internal approval.
  • Assist with post-tender negotiations and contract handovers to project teams.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and support staff.
  • Maintain historical cost database and update estimating tools.
  • Monitor and report on market trends, material prices, and labor costs.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in estimating within the [construction / engineering / manufacturing] industry.
  • Proficiency in estimating software
  • Strong knowledge of local and international construction/engineering standards and market rates.
  • Proven track record in preparing winning bids for large-scale projects.
