Employer DescriptionOur client is a producer of home and personal care chemicalsJob DescriptionOur client based in the East Rand of Gauteng has an opportunity for the experienced individual to join their team in the capacity of the EHS Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following
  • Develop and implement workplace health and safety policies in line with OSHA, ISO 45001, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Provide guidance on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring corrective and
  • preventive actions are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and ISO 14001 standards related to
  • pollution control, waste management, and sustainable practices.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of environmental
  • reports
  • Develop and conduct EHS training programs for employees on workplace safety,
  • emergency preparedness, and environmental best practices
  • Maintain records of EHS inspections, training programs, incident reports, and
  • regulatory compliance documents
Qualifications
  • Matriculation
  • Degree/Diploma in Enviromental Science/Safety Management or Equivalent
  • SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification is advantageous
Skills
  • 3-5 years experience as an EHS Officer or related role within a manufacturing / production environment is essential for this role
  • Previous experience with Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) is essential
  • Must have ISO14001 & ISO45001 experience
  • EHS internal auditing experience
