RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3 – 4 years' experience in the steel sales environment in the Western Cape
  • Extensive knowledge in the mild steel market
  • Proven track record
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
  • Grade 12 Certificate with a Valid Drivers' License.
  • Tertiary qualification will be considered an added advantage

  • Knowledge of steel advantageous.
  • Proven track record in structural and plate products.
PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
  • Maintain/Grow existing sales and relationships with dedicated customers
  • Develop sales & relationships with new customers in your product range
  • Negotiation on buyouts from suppliers
  • Stock forecasts/ordering & control on your product range
  • Monitor aged stock on your product range
  • Work hand in hand with dedicated internal to drive sales
  • Achieve the targets set out on your product range
  • Managing debtors book within targets
  • Understand mill pricing on your product range
  • Connect with relevant product heads to maintain stock levels on your range in CT
  • Identify opportunities for direct deliveries to mitigate costs on your range
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships and resolving queries.
  • Follow up on new leads resulting from field activity.
  • Generating new sales and maintaining existing customer accounts.
  • Achieving and exceeding monthly targets.
  • Compiling and submitting sales and / or call reports as required.
  • Constant/on-going cold calling.
  • Strong product knowledge on all mild steel products
  • To uphold the BSI brand
