- A tertiary qualification in Business Sciences or related fields.
- Postgraduate degree preferred.
- 10–15 years in general business operations, production, and commercial roles.
- Agricultural sector and experience in underdeveloped African countries are advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in managing scaled operations and stakeholder relations.
- Experience reporting to executive leadership and boards
- Holistic understanding of finance, operations, and commercial functions.
- Familiarity with export logistics of subtropical fruits.
- Strong people management and compliance orientation.
- Knowledge of local/export market accreditation standards (e.g., GlobalGAP, SMETA).
- Financial control and African agricultural legal frameworks.
- High computer literacy.
- High integrity and ethical conduct.
- Strong communication, transparency, and results orientation.
- Business acumen and decision-making capabilities.
- Resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally.

- Participate in annual opex and capex budget planning, monitoring, and mid-year adjustments.
- Provide monthly and project-based financial reports.
- Drive profitability by aligning people and resources with business objectives.
- Lead farm operations through the operations team to ensure quality fruit production aligned with best practices.
- Manage harvesting activities in line with demand planning.
- Develop and implement a 5-year growth and supply expansion plan.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen company image.
- Benchmark operations against industry standards in cost, technology, and talent.
- Enforce discipline and performance management.
- Set performance agreements, coach, and mentor team members.
- Develop succession plans for critical positions.
- Promote a positive labour relations environment through continuous engagement.
- Oversee the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
- Conduct hazard identification and develop risk assessments.
- Maintain ISO45001 accreditation in relevant departments.
- Develop and execute fruit export systems.
- Research and develop new markets for growth.
- Conduct feasibility studies for packhouse expansion and avocado oil production.
- Serve as a liaison with government and business stakeholders.
- Investigate opportunities for new agricultural developments within Mozambique.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations (e.g., dam safety, EIA, water rights, infrastructure).
- Promote ethical business practices and strong corporate governance.
- Foster an inclusive workplace culture.
