Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needsAbout the roleWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advisor: External Communications to join our dynamic team, leading external communications activities in support of RBM`s Strategic objectives.The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in external communications, brand management, and strategic communication.Reporting to the Manager: Communications you will be responsible for the following:Newsroom Function Oversight
Reputation Management, including issues logging & reporting
Social Listening & Community Management
Media Relations
Strategic media monitoring, analysis and reporting of RBM media activities
Spokespersons Media Training
High-level strategic copywriting for external and critical internal communications
Enforcement of company External Communications Policies & Procedures.
Brand Management
Ensuring adherence to Rio Tinto’s Brand Guidelines for all communications materials and collateral
Managing above-the-line and below-the-line advertising initiatives.
Overseeing the end-to-end production and distribution of key company reports
Events planning and management of strategic company events
What you’ll bring
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Public Relations
A certification in Desktop Publishing (DTP) is advantageous
Proven digital marketing knowledge
Experience in the mining industry or heavy industries
Fluency in isiZulu and English is advantageous
A valid South African driver's license with own reliable transportation is required
Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially in copywriting
Good interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, able to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
