- Support the taxation department within Finance function.
- Maintain and prepare reconciliations required for VAT, WHT and Customs
- Filing and maintaining documents and records
- Support compliance under Direct Taxes
- Support compliance under Indirect Taxes
- Work in coordination with direct manager and finance team, understand the ERP, both accounting and tax reporting tools
- Assist in external and internal audits.
- Be compliant to all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in ICOFR submissions where required.
- At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
- Any other ad hoc assignment
- Withholding Tax
- Responsible for accurate and timely reconciliations on monthly basis. Responsible to reconcile the Tax receivable accounts with tax certificates and ensure all WHT certificates are collected from the business/collections teams and filed with register for Tax return purposes.
- VAT
- Responsible for accurate and timely reconciliations on monthly basis Including Revenue Recon and GL reconciliations.
- Collecting Vat exemptions, Vat support documents and returns and filing in Tax SharePoint Site
- Customs VAT and Duties
- Ensuring proper record keeping for excise & customs matters
- Responsible collection all documents and filing in Tax share point site.
- Support on any specific assignment that may be provided from time to time.
- Support direct and indirect tax compliance including but not limited to:
- Tax return preparations (VAT, WHT and specific GL accounts for CIT)
- Document gathering
- Work with the business and direct manager and support process around data collection and accurate and timely reporting.
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Finance qualification
- 3-5 years accounting experience
- Experience on various ERP finance systems
- Must have VAT knowledge and experience with reconciliations and SARS Returns with regards to reconciling for return submission. Must have knowledge on the main rules for VAT in terms of rules for Output and Input VAT.to enable reconciliations.
