- Relevant qualifications in Lung Function or EEG technology
- HPCSA registration (Health Professions Council of South Africa)
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and patient care
- Proficiency in operating lung function testing equipment (spirometry, plethysmography, diffusion capacity tests) or EEG machines
- Ability to interpret and analyze test results accurately
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory and neurological conditions
- Understanding of HPCSA regulations and adherence to professional standards
- Experience with calibration and maintenance of diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures and comfort patients
- Ability to work with patients of all ages, including children and elderly individuals
- Attention to infection control protocols and patient safety
- Sensitivity and compassion when dealing with anxious patients
- Attention to detail and accuracy when recording test results
- Ability to identify abnormalities and escalate concerns to a physician
- Strong critical-thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Competence in record-keeping and maintaining patient reports
- Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently
- Familiarity with medical software for data entry and reporting
