MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Scientific qualification in Agriculture. Preference being given to a post graduate degree in entomology or plant pathology.
  • 3+ Years practical experience in the field
  • Proven MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
  • IT strengths particularly in MS Excel and similar programmes.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to focus on detail.
  • Strong and ordered administrative capabilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, friendly disposition.
  • Be able to work independently and a good team player.
  • Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans.
  • Valid drivers license.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS INCLUDE:
  • Provide professional recommendations for the effective commercial control of agricultural pests and diseases on citrus.
  • Monitor pest and disease status throughout the year, advising farm (and marketing if required) management on risk and on market suitability.
  • Provide support to farm management to ensure effective pest and disease scout reporting.
  • Audit production pest and disease management.
  • Make proposals for and conduct relevant pest and disease field trials.
