The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring improved quality nursing care in line with professional and ethical standards. This role involves monitoring and implementing nursing care and service delivery within a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team, as well as overseeing capacity building, mentoring, and training initiatives.RequirementsMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a private hospital settingProven experience in clinical leadershipSound financial knowledge with the ability to interpret and apply financial dataIntermediate level of computer proficiencyStrong ability to manage costs, quality, and staff skill mixEducation & CertificationsRelevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualificationCertified qualification in the relevant specialist discipline (essential)Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered NurseCompliance with SANC Code of Practice and applicable healthcare legislationA relevant management qualification will be an added advantageRoles & ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage acuity levels and staff skill mix to ensure cost-effective, quality careManage departmental costs, including billing, stock control, and purchasing processesEnsure accurate and timeous compilation and maintenance of patient filesIdentify quality improvement opportunities and implement appropriate initiativesLead, mentor, and train staff to enhance team performance and professional growthDrive compliance with professional, ethical, and legal standards within the unit
