To provide front line technical support to all internal staff for all computer-related problems. To ensure that all the computers, laptops, printers, audio and other ICT hardware are working to their maximum potential; ensuring that all problems are fixed quickly and efficiently.An essential element of this job is the provision of prompt and effective problem-solving and troubleshooting to the ICT customers through a centralized service desk when system failures or dysfunctions occur.Key responsibilities:
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
  • Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Ensuring computers daily backup are running.
  • Managing technical documentation
  • Perform other related duties of similar nature.
Requirements:
  • Matric /Grade 12
  • 3 years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
  • A+, N+ Linux and or Juniper networks associate accreditation advantageous or similar
  • ITIL knowledge
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Good knowledge of digital tools
  • Good IT problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in the use of various computer software packages, including Windows, Ms Office, 0365 etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, using excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relay technical procedures to end-users in an understandable format (non-IT jargon) that encourages technology usage.
  • Ability to comprehend complex procedures.
  • Ability to assess problems and situations and take appropriate action using all available resources.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, work effectively under pressure, and complete work in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform job functions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and setup of computers and applications.
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform duties with tact and discretion.
  • Handle confidential information appropriately.
